If it ups the ratings, why not go for another round? Rumor has it that 'Grey's Anatomy' screenwriter Shonda Rimes is prepping a sequel to Thursday night's ‘Grey’s Anatomy: The Music Event.’

In anticipation for the success of the most recent musical episode, 'Grey's' even dropped a soundtrack of the show -- but could this really be the cash cow they're looking for? People love the medical drama for the drama, not the music, and after all, that's 'Glee' territory.

Allegedly, many of the 'Grey's' cast members do have the voices to match the musical comedy, but they didn't want to give away too much of their goodness in order to avoid being featured on the soundtrack. Now that Rimes is the wiser, she's supposedly got the sequel episode in the works. "Justin Chambers really surprised me. He has an amazing voice. Chyler Leigh has an amazing voice. I think the only singing she had done prior to this was to her children," she recently dished to TV Line. "And Ellen Pompeo. Ellen’s voice is really pure and true, and she was so sure that she couldn’t sing and she really can."

Should they proceed with the idea, Rimes even has a solo already picked out for the show's star, Pompeo. "I really want to see Ellen sing ['Portions For Foxes'] by Rilo Kiley, which was the very first song we ever had in the pilot," she reveals.

In the meantime, we'll have to settle for 'Glee' to tide us over until 'Grey's' nails down their musical comeback -- and we don't mind that one bit.
