The ever enigmatic Sia used social media to her advantage when she finally unveiled both a release date and the artwork for her upcoming album This Is Acting today (November 2).

She made the announcement on her newly created Instagram account @siathisisacting, revealing that the forthcoming album is set for a January 29 release date.

During a recent interview with RTV Slovenija, Sia admitted that the album -- which will act as a follow-up to her last album, 2014's 1000 Forms of Fear -- contains tracks that were written with other artists in mind. Her current single “Alive,” which was co-written with Adele and Tobia Jesso Jr., was originally intended for Adele’s upcoming album 25. But the singer ultimately decided against including it on her album, so Sia kept it for herself instead.

Sia said of the track (via Billboard), “It’s about [Adele’s] life, so I now sing a song from [Adele’s] perspective.”

In an interview with NME, Sia expanded on the album’s concept, saying, “I’m super productive. I have a full album ready to go and it’s much more pop. I’m calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go in thinking ‘This is something I would say.’ It’s more like play acting. It’s fun."
