Simon Cowell can be pretty cantankerous to begin with, but he's really cranky following the scheduling disaster for 'X Factor' on Wednesday night (Oct. 17).

In case you missed it: Instead of airing at its normal time slot on Fox, 'X Factor' was moved back because of the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals. There was a rain delay in the game, however, forcing the show to be moved back even further on the East Coast. The judges' houses episode of the show was delayed roughly 40 minutes in total -- and it doesn't end there. The show was also cut off abruptly during Demi Lovato's selections and launched into rerun of 'The Mindy Project.'

Though a brief scrolling message on the bottom of the screen revealed that the episode would be re-aired in full this Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 8 PM ET.

DigitalSpy reports that Cowell was pretty displeased and unpleasantly surprised by the fiasco, and he vented his frustrations on Twitter, writing, "Have no idea what is happening to the schedule tonight. Have heard the whole episode will be shown next Tuesday. Sorry. It (sic) what's known as a total f up."

To prevent another "total f up," 'X Factor' will go on a brief break for the World Series, returning when live shows begin on Nov. 1 at 8 PM ET. The more you know!
