If Season 11's rocking country girl Skylar Laine wants to make it country, baby, it's okay. She was born that way. She countrified two non-country songs on 'American Idol' tonight (April 18) during both her performances. The contestants were asked to perform a modern song as as well as classic soul tune this evening and Laine did what she does best.

The singer turned in a country rendition of Lady Gaga's dance anthem 'Born This Way' but little monsters know that it was not blasphemy, since Gaga released a country road version of the song last year. Since Laine is a tried and true country and a western powerhouse, the teen took the twang up a notch. She slayed the final notes, too. Jennifer Lopez had never heard the country rendition before, screaming "I love that version!" Laine is all power and personality. She performs like the stage is the only place she wants to be.

For her second song, she turned Marvin Gaye's sultry, soul classic 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine' into a country jam, while she strutted across that stage like a country diva in training. Laine owns it every single time she gets on in front of a crowd, inviting the audience to the Skylar Laine Country Rock Party. The spunky Southern gal always connects, just like Phillip Phillips. However, that is something Elise Testone and Hollie Cavanagh have trouble with.

Laine performed like she has already made plans for May 23, which is the Season 11 finale. She wants to be there, performing and winning. You go girl.
