Remember when Snoop changed his name to Snoop Lion and switched to Bob Marley-influenced reggae music? Evidently, that wasn’t a permanent change, because “Snoop Dogg” is on the bill for the Ultra Music Festival.

We appreciate the rapper’s willingness to branch out into a new genre, but let’s face it – when you’re going to see Snoop live in concert, you want to hear ‘Gin and Juice,’ ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot,’ ‘Beautiful,’ and all the other chart-toppers that have made Snoop Dogg one of the biggest hip-hop stars of the last 20 years.

Not to mention ‘Young, Wild & Free,’ his 2011 collaboration with Wiz Khalifa that hit the Top 10 and earned a Grammy nomination – proof that Snoop is still going as strong as ever.

Snoop apparently still intends to release a reggae album in 2013 under the Snoop Lion moniker, but he’s smart enough to know that when it comes to festival performances like Ultra, he’s got to bring out the classics.
