Snoop Dogg, or rather Snoop Lion, is jumping on the 'American Idol' bandwagon, adding himself to the list of possible new judges for the hit FOX series ... kind of.

According to the Associated Press, the rapper recently said, “I’ll do ‘American Idol,'" after hearing about the millions of dollars the network has reportedly paid its judges.

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler exited the show last month, and with Randy Jackson moving into a mentor role, the network is looking for fresh talent. So far, Mariah Carey has been tapped to fill one seat on the panel, reportedly earning $18 million per year for a one-year contract with a renewal option.

Upon hearing about the diva's salary, Snoop jokingly said to his manager, “Get on it!” If Snoop were to throw his hat in the ring, he has some tough competition. FOX is rumored to be in talks with Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams to fill the other two judging slots.

Snoop's schedule is pretty full these days, though. He will be showing his new documentary, ‘Reincarnated,’ at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, which takes place from Sept. 6 through Sept. 16. The film follows the star, who says he's Bob Marley reincarnated, on his trip to Jamaica, chronicling the recording of his soon-to-be released reggae album, which also shares the same name as the movie.
