The Spice Girls, as we knew them, are done for good. According to The Daily Record, Victoria Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, has departed the girl group to pursue her very successful fashion endeavors, but the rest of the girls are not ready to say goodbye.

Scary, Baby, Ginger and Sporty are planning on replacing Posh with a (what else?) 'X-Factor' reality TV show. Rumor has it that Geri Halliwell is the Spice Girl who is most adamant about continuing the Spice Girls legacy with a fifth member.

But don't hold your breath waiting for this reality show to start, a source told The Daily Record, "Emma and both the Melanies are busy for the next year but are talking about doing something afterwards."

The good news is that Beckham is departing the rest of the girls on good terms. Another source said, "She has nothing but love and respect for all of the girls and the journey they went on together. Now, though, her focus is firmly on her family and her fashion business." Having had so much success with her fashion line, Victoria simply may not have the time to do a tour or album with the band.

The ladies made their big comeback at the 2012 Olympic closing ceremonies and it seems they are not ready to come down from their performance just yet! At least we won't have to live in a world that is totally devoid of Spice Girls. We know what that's like and we shudder at the thought!
