Well, this isn't going to exactly keep those reunion rumors at bay, is it?

Next year (err, a few days from now) marks the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Spice Girls, the most iconic musical export from England since The Beatles. Seriously: the debut of "Wannabe" in January of 1997 marked the highest entry from a British band since the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" in the early '60s. Accordingly, the troupe has been loudly buzzing about doing 'something' to mark the occasion. (Tour, tour, tour!)

In the meantime, Melanie C — Sporty Spice, as we all know and love her — stopped by The Chris Evans Breakfast Show and provided a little bit of vintage Girl Power by whipping up the Girls' legendary Spiceworld ballad "Too Much," their second Christmas number one single in the UK (and a Top 10 hit here in the States).

While it surely would have sounded a whole lot better with Baby, Scary, Ginger and Posh providing vocal assistance in the acoustic setting, Mel C still managed to deliver a spot-on, massively nostalgic rendition of the classic tune nearly twenty years after its original release. For real...it might as well be audio pulled from a tour dress rehearsal in 1998. It's perfect!

Now then, please make sure to tweet this performance out to the other four. Remember: The power of five keeps love alive.
