Yesterday, Stefano Langone was on top of the televised pop music world. Last night, not only was he voted off 'American Idol,' he was later 'executed' by Oscar-winning film actor Christoph Waltz on the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' show.

Actually, Stefano wasn't even the main target of the fake assassination featured in the clever pre-taped bit, which interjected Waltz as a would-be fourth judge into existing 'Idol' footage. The real focus of the segment was a pointed critique of the seeming inability of current judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson to deliver any kind of truly negative criticism to even the most hapless contestants.

Waltz demonstrated no such difficulty, ordering armed guards to shoot Langone repeatedly, explaining "when someone is terrible, you don't inflate a malfunctioning ego. No, you eliminate him. Permanently." He then performed a comically bad version of 'Who Let the Dogs Out?' and ordered the judges to assess it accurately in order to save their lives.

Lopez and Jackson gave into his request, barely finding some vague faults, but Tyler once again could find nothing bad to say whatsoever, and quickly found himself on the wrong side of the firing squad. Waltz calmly sipped hot cocoa as the Aerosmith singer bit the dust, in a scene reminiscent of his role in the 2009 hit war film 'Inglourious Basterds.'
