In this week’s episode of ‘Smash’, Tom (Christian Borle) and his new boyfriend Sam sing a song about opening night as the cast prepares for ‘Tech’ week, also known as hell week in the theatre world. Our New Yorkers travel to Boston where three weeks of preview shows will be performed. Ivy (Megan Hilty) helps Derek (Jack Davenport) figure out a set problem and he replies (seemingly) sincerely “And that’s why I love you,” leaving her speechless. Let the show begin!

The actor Ted, playing Joe DiMaggio in the Marilyn Monroe production ‘Bombshell’ informs Derek that he cannot do the show anymore due to a better job offer. Derek tells Tom that they have to hire Michael Swift, the previous actor for DiMaggio until Julia and him had an affair. This affair led to Michael being fired and Julia’s (Debra Messing) marriage falling to pieces. Over the phone Tom tries to explain the situation to Julia, who is still at home with her family in New York. She is furious and refuses to work with Michael.

Tension escalates when Rebecca (Uma Thurman) finds out that her leading man has jumped ship. She is forced to go backstage to calm down and Derek asks Ivy to stand in as Marilyn. She is obviously pleased and relishes being in the spotlight. However, afterwards in her dressing room, Rebecca and Derek have a talk where he tells her to use her insecurities to channel Marilyn. Ellis finds Ivy listening outside Rebecca’s room, but he assures her that Derek isn’t cheating on her.

Karen (Katharine McPhee) confides in her friends that Dev is the love of her life but she doesn’t want to see him right now. Her cast mates assure her that civilian don’t belong in tech week because they wouldn’t understand the nerves and chaos. Back home, Dev is visited at his apartment by his beautiful coworker, who brought a bottle of bourbon. In a moment of passion they begin kissing before he breaks it off.

As Marilyn, Rebecca sings Derek ‘Happy Birthday’ during practice and has an elaborate cake brought on stage. Derek is touched and lets Rebecca hand feed him cake as Ivy looks on with unmatchable fury. Meanwhile Eileen tries to convince Julia that their only option left is to hire Michael Swift, but she refuses to put her fragile family at risk for the show. Meanwhile Dev shows up at rehearsal to surprise Karen but she cannot see him until after practice is over.

That night Tom has dinner with Sam’s family, and Tom wins them over only to upset Sam. Tom believes that Sam doesn’t have a stable career as a dancer and it causes a huge argument between them. Back at the theater Derek provides some emotional support for Rebecca and ends up sleeping with the Hollywood actress. Ivy tries to find Derek but realizes what’s going on in Rebecca’s dressing room.

Over dinner Dev proposes to Karen and she refuses to give him an answer because she is under so much pressure from Tech week. She leaves and tries to find a friend to talk to but comes across a cast member in one of the hotel rooms. Ivy and Karen are dared to do a sing off.

Broken hearted and grief stricken, Ivy sings a soulful rendition of ‘I’m Going Down.’ Before it’s Karen’s turn Dev finds her at the party and blows up in her face. He admits to almost sleeping with his coworker, causing Karen to storm off. Meanwhile Frank and their son Leo convince Julia to go to Boston because they don’t want her to sacrifice her career. Julia agrees only after her family promises to go with her.

Back in Boston Ivy sits next to Dev at a bar and he buys her drink. After they introduce themselves, they toast with a mischievous eye and the episode comes to a sudden end. What will happen in these twisted turn of events? Are Derek and Ivy or Karen and Dev done for good? Can Julia handle her ex lover being in the same room? And will Rebecca actually make it to opening as Marilyn, or will one of our favorite ladies replace her at the last minute? Only two episodes remain in this season of ‘Smash’.

In Steven Tyler‘s candid interview on ’60 Minutes,’ the ‘American Idol‘ judge revealed a lot about himself and his contenious relationship with Aerosmith. In an honest moment, Tyler admits that he suffers from attention deficit disorder (A.D.D.).

He talks about how he’s a workaholic and worries his irrational behavior could be something more serious. It doesn’t appear that he has been diagnosed by a doctor, but Tyler adds, “You know what, I’m A.D.D. personified.” When the interviewer asked if he had Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, he finished with, “I’m not sure, but I have A.D.D.”

Tyler had some  interesting things to say about his Aerosmith bandmates. He admits, “They ride my coattails … They don’t like me.” Aerosmith’s lead guitarist for the past 40 years, Joe Perry, told the ’60 Minutes’ reporter that Tyler is an extreme perfectionist. In a defensive response, Tyler reponds, ”I think my perfectionism and my busting everyone’s chops is what got this band to where it is today.”

The rest of the interview shows a glimpse of what it is like to be in Aerosmith on the day of a show. The backstage lifestyle is much different than it was during the ’70s. Tyler is shown drinking a veggie smoothie and the rest of the band drinks their share of herbal tea before hitting the stage.

Episode six of NBC’s ‘Smash,’ titled ‘Chemistry,’ skyrocketed off with Ivy (Megan Hilty) having problems with her voice. Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Eileen (Anjelica Houston) are having money issues, while Tom (Christian Borle), Derek (Jack Davenport) and Julia (Debra Messing) are at each others’ throats due to the incomplete script. During rehearsal Ivy has a hard time hitting the high notes, croaking through them painfully just in time for Eileen to walk in. Welcome to show business!

Afterwards as everyone is leaving, Karen drops her bags behind the piano and goes unnoticed as Tom, Derek and Julia discuss their options concerning Ivy’s frog voice. Derek suggests that for their big presentation the upcoming weekend they use Karen in place of Ivy as Marilyn Monroe. Tom is the only one who disagrees, leaving an unseen Karen shocked.

Back at Ivy’s apartment Derek persuades her to use the steroids the doctor subscribed, even though the horror stories of the side effects are well known. At Karen’s own apartment she goes through Marilyn’s lines, confidently realizing that she could play the part of Marilyn.

While cooking pancakes, Julia daydreams about her passionate kiss with Michael (Will Chase), her former lover and the male lead in the musical. She is oblivious to her sulking son Leo, who witnessed this kiss, unbeknownst to his mother. Suddenly her husband shows up, much to the relief of both Julia and Leo.

Ivy shows up the next day at rehearsal panicking about the medicine, complaining of cold sweats and a constant migraine. Per usual, Derek ignores her concerns, only wanting to know how her voice is doing, which she reluctantly says she is fine. Also before rehearsal, Karen’s friend asks her to cover for a bat mitzvah that pays $500, which could solve her credit card woes.

Across town, Tom’s nosy assistant Ellis visits Eileen at work again, forcing a friendship on her which she starts to accept. Michael has the same resilience with Julia, constantly begging to see her again, claiming that he cannot sleep because of her.

In her room Ivy sings ‘Who Are You’ by Jessie J in a drug induced hallucinated state, only to see Karen dressed as Marilyn Monroe staring back at her from her mirror. Ivy freaks out, causing Tom to leave the dinner party at his boyfriend’s house to console her. Meanwhile, Karen shows up late to the bat mitzvah wearing an inappropriate mini dress. She fails to win over the party guests until she performs her own version of Florence + the Machine‘s ‘Shake It Out.’ At the end of the night she is given a business card from an unknown man.

At her home, a restless Julia tells her husband she is stressed from work and leaves to go for a walk to “clear her head.” Instead she meets Michael at the dance studio and although she tries to relay the rules, he is able to win Julia over. Michael slowly begins to unbutton her shirt as she looks at him with sadness, desperation and longing. Their clothes fall away and he carries her to the bed, asking if she wants him to stop. She tells him no.

Before practice the nest day Ivy tries to gain attention from Derek, which is only dismissed. However, Michael and Julia share mischievous glances, sending enough passionate vibes throughout the studio for everyone. Karen’s friend informs her that the man who gave her the business card apparently turns out to belong to someone important, infuriating Ivy even more.

In a final number Ivy and Michael perform the ballad ‘History Is Made at Night‘ from the musical, but she comically falls down at the end, ending with everyone in laughter. Derek reprimands her, and she bursts out in at him in front of everyone, yelling “I need to stop sleeping with men who are complete narcissistic p—-s. Oh, and you’re not that good looking and you’re not that good in bed, either.” The outburst was much to the amusement of everyone, except Derek of course.

Next week’s episode promises even more drama, with Julia sneaking off to make out with Michael while Ivy has a hard time keeping her act together. Theater veteran Bernadette Peters also guest stars, in what must be an attempt to gain more ratings. It feels as though the show’s writers are having a hard time focusing, hopefully soon the story can get back on track. After all, the show must go on!

Tonight’s episode of ‘The Voice‘ (March 12) marked the second week of the heated battle rounds. It’s murder on the coaches, who are forced to pit two of their own team members against one another and then choose which one they want to keep and which one they want to send home. It’s difficult and they agonize over it. This week, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine chose to send contestants with similarities into battle, while Cee Lo Green shook things up and paired singers that couldn’t be more different.

PopCrush is here to provide you with the breakdown of each team’s battles, as the live shows inch closer.

Team Blake:

Charlotte Sometimes was pitted against Lex Land for Foster the People’s dreamy ‘Pumped Up Kicks.’ Both have similar tones to their voices, but Charlotte is boisterous and outgoing — hello, Jersey, and proud of it — whereas Lex is much more introverted and shy. Shelton acknowledged that the battle would center on the ladies’ personalities. Charlotte (who looks like a brunette Ashley Tisdale) worked her skintight mini-dress that showed off miles of legs, while the curvy Lex (who resembles Maggie Gyllenhaal) was a modern flapper. Both girls have breathy, velvety voices, with sexy and airy moments. It was difficult for Papa Blake, who commended Lex on her sultry whispers, to  make a selection. Ultimately, Charlotte is the kind of entertainer that you can’t take your eyes off and that’s who Blake chose.

Team Christina:

Sera Hill has demonstrated strong execution, solid follow through and buckets of emotion. Her runs were crisp, but her biggest strength is the ability to tell a story with her voice. Geoff McBride showed that he sings with an unrivaled passion. He’s an organic soul brother. So when Xtina paired them to sing ‘Chain of Fools’ by Aretha, it made sense since both have those type of voices. Hill and McBride were well-matched and had cute chemistry. They also brought the house down. Xtina chose Sera because she is so technically proficient. In our opinion, she also likely picked Hill because she is younger, more marketable and downright stunning.

For her team’s second battle, the singer switched things up a little. Lee Koch and Lindsey Pavao tackled Nirvana‘s ‘Heart Shaped Box,’ which they performed with dark and gothic goodness. It was a little sleepy, but these two have those kinds of laid back, somewhat quiet voices. It was challenging for both of them, since Xtina doesn’t traffic in rock. She chose Pavao, which was ultimately a safe choice and what we expected from Coach Christina.

Team Adam:

Levine is a choosy judge, but for his battle, he had Kim Yarbrough and Whitney Myer engage in voice-to-voice combat. It was a true battle of the divas, with the ladies singing Mary J. Blige‘s ‘No More Drama.’ Oh the irony, since the drama was brought tenfold. It was an epic showdown between two very powerful voices, but Levine went with Yarbrough because she infused her performance with the kinda soul that makes heads turn. Like 360 degrees, Reagan from ‘The Exorcist’ style.

Team Cee Lo:

For Team Cee Lo’s initial battle, Sarah Golden was pitted against Juliet Simms for Rod Stewart‘s ‘Stay With Me.’ Since Simms sounds like the female version of Stewart, she had a distinct advantage. Cee Lo maintained that he believed that Golden’s hushed, folky tones could surprise us all, but they didn’t. Simms overpowered her in every aspect during the rehearsals and mentoring sessions. It felt sort of unfair. Cee Lo said he wanted to challenge Golden and we respect that, but this battle seemed over before it even started.

His second battle saw soulful Jamar Rogers going up against Jamie Lono for ‘I Want to Know What Love Is.’ Another odd, questionable pairing but at least this one didn’t thumb the scale in favor of one contestant over the other ala Simms vs. Golden. It was two dissimilar voices going up against one another, which is the opposite strategy that his competing coaches employ. He eventually chose Rogers, since sandwich making Lono was a bit too nervous.

After Lee Koch and Lindsey Pavao finished singing Nirvana‘s ‘Heart Shaped Box’ on ‘The Voice’ Monday night, all four coaches just sort of tilted their heads and said “Huh?” Christina Aguilera‘s contestants rearranged the early 90s rock song into something Bella and Edward would karaoke in a ‘Twilight’ movie.

Adam Levine said it was an “incredibly, delightfully, creepy performance.” Koch, the full-time baker aspiring to be a folk singer hadn’t heard the song in ten years, but between rehearsals he made the song his own. From the beginning it was clear he wasn’t the same struggling nervous contestant he was while rehearsing with Aguilera and Jewel.

Conversely, Pavao was challenged with stepping back. “Really study the structure of the melody,” Aguilera said, “and then you can put your personality into it.” Pavao was under the tutelage of Lionel Richie, whose challenge was to build the Sacramento, Calif. native’s confidence and stage presence.

The final performance was one you may not have wanted to watch alone. Cee Lo Green said Koch looked like Jesus at times, while Pavao’s performance was reminiscent of Evanescence singer Amy Lee. The other judges were split, which left it up to Aguilera to decide alone. For a long moment she stared at the ground, giving viewers a good look at the rhinestone satellite that covered her crown.

“It’s gotta be Lindsey!” It could have gone either way, but the pop singer said she was drawn to Pavao’s potential and versatility. For Koch, it’s back to baking — though we think he has a future in song too, just not here.

About the only things Lex Land and Charlotte Sometimes have in common are their dark hair and that they’re both on Blake Shelton‘s team on ‘The Voice.’ So it made perfect sense for the country coach to pair them up to battle-sing Foster the People‘s ‘Pumped Up Kicks.’

The shy and quiet camp counselor Land recognized that she would have to come out of her shell to beat Sometimes, the comedic singer from New Jersey. “You can’t really win against a Jersey girl,” Sometimes said. It turns out she was right, at least during this round. It was like watching Adele battle Snooki, if Snooki could sing and wasn’t so irritating.

Land was paired with Shelton’s wife Miranda Lambert, who recognized the contestant’s talent, and that she needed to not be intimidated by Sometimes’ more outgoing personality. “There’s a mystery to you that’s like something draws me to you, I wanna know more about you,” Lambert said.

For Sometimes, it was about reeling in her personality. “Vocally she’s stellar, she’s got a killer vibe about her voice,” Kelly Clarkson said. The smart money was on Land after she appeared in the Kia driving to the audition. Hey, it worked for RaeLynn last week.

Neither singer showed much personality on stage, as each stood idly watching the other take a verse. Shelton said he recognized some pitch issues early in Land’s performance, but praised her smoky whisper. “It’s like, what in the hell did she just do?” he said.

In the end, Sometimes’ consistency was too much to overcome. She also seemed to be more comfortable in front of a live audience, something that will only help her during the live rounds. Land was sent home, but still turned in a subtly stellar performance of her own.

Adam Levine picked a battle that pit experience against youthful enthusiasm. 50-year old Kim Yarbrough battled Whitney Myer and had to sing ‘No More Drama’ by Mary J. Blige. The winner of this battle will be one of the favorites this season on ‘The Voice’ . Levine knew that this would be a hard decision and stated, “They have to beat each other to win.”

Myer was paired with Alanis Morissette as her coach. Levine pointed out that Myer started off with “breathiness,” and that is something that she needs to correct. Morissette added that Myer needs to hold out her notes out longer. Myer asked for special advice on how she can win, and Morissette answered, “You need to be present.” Myer clearly respects Yarbough’s ability and her experience as a performer.

Robin Thicke mentored Yarbrough, but didn’t have to give much advice to the experienced vocalist. “I’m missing a little bit of that tension that this song is about,” Thicke noted. Myer needed to sing perfectly to knock Yarbrough out of this competition. “Some of the places that (Myer) is going, I’ve already been,” Yarbrough explaining why this is her last shot.

Myer and Yarbrough have different styles, which are evident at the beginning of the battle. Yarbrough has a powerful voice, but Myer has a uniquely high-pitched sound. The duo had a nice sound and their differences complement each other. Blige would agree that they did a great job with her song. After the performance, Blake Shelton was impressed as well. He said, “I thought that I was watching one of those Diva concerts.”

Levine was perplexed and had a hard time making a decision. He struggled for a moment and he picked Yarbrough. Her experience was too much for Myer to overcome. Yarbrough is a great asset for ‘Team Adam’ and will be a threat during the live shows.

Jamie Lono took on Jamar Rogers on tonight’s episode of ‘The Voice,’ and it was a battle for the ages. While we didn’t see any blood, we did see sweat and tears — and a big vein. Say what?!Coach Cee Lo Green chose Foreigner’s ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ for the power vocalists’ duel.

Both singers started off softly, then grew in volume and strength as the song went on. It was a toned down version of the classic rock hit. It seemed like Lono had more verses to actually sing, while Rogers appeared to emote a bit more — and Cee Lo pointed out that this song is more about emotion than technicalities. It was a foreshadowing of the final outcome.

“Jamar, you owned it. You owned that whole stage,” Adam Levine gushed. “You are ridiculously good. You’re gonna go real far.”

“I love your vibe,” Blake Shelton said to Lono. “I’ve never seen anything like that before.”

Christina Aguilera was complimentary to both singers, but clearly had a favorite. “You don’t need to make sandwiches anymore,” she told Lono. “Jamar, that very last note that you hit — you have something all great singers have. That singer’s vein! It was popping out. I’m going to go with Jamar.”

Cee Lo lamented on Lono’s apparent and visible nerves, which appeared to have gotten the best of him during his still-solid performance. At the end of the day, Rogers’ redemptive background as well as his vocal prowess gave him the edge over his red-spectacled opponent.

“Jamar, your story is a story of redemption,” Cee Lo said. “You display a power and a confidence. Today’s winner of the battle is Jamar.”

Team Christina Aguilera starts off this episode of ‘The Voice’ with Geoff McBride and Sera Hill. They had a big task of singing Aretha Franklin’s ‘Chain of Fools.’ Christina paired them together because “they showed that they have powerful voices.” Aguilera is not messing around with her song choices.

McBride and Hill sang for Aguilera during coaching sessions, and she didn’t have to do much tweaking. She said that “Geoff blew her away with his range.” The 51-year old McBride said, “I have the advantage because this is the stuff that I grew up on.”

McBride was the first to work with his mentor. Lionel Richie worked with him and was instantly blown away with McBride’s voice. Aguilera said that in order to win, McBride must challenge Sera. Ritchie added that “he needed some swagger.”

Hill worked with Jewel as her mentor. Aguilera was the first to give advice and she said that Hill was “bringing it.” She also acknowledged McBride’s powerful voice once more. Jewel’s advice was to “bring more emotion, more heart and she’ll bring it home.”

The battle started and they started to sing an upbeat version of ‘Chain Of Fools.’ Hill was first to sing and started this battle off very strong. McBride’s return was very powerful, as expected. They have a nice “call and answer” style together, and back in the Motown days, they would have sold a lot of records as a duo. Hill and McBride both had amazing runs at the end of the song. This was one of the closest battles so far this season.

Cee Lo Green started mention that “they work well as a group.” It is clear that he enjoyed the performance and thought that McBride was stronger. Blake Shelton added some comedy and said, “They can sing the crap out of this song.”

After that performance, Aguilera had a tough decision to make. She took her time and added, “Sera is a technical singer, but Jeff didn’t back down.” She finally announced that Hill was the winner of the battle because of “the way she did ad-libs and her inflections.”

Madonna may be the Queen of Pop, but she rose to her rank around the same time as another legend: the late Whitney Houston. In a recent interview, Madge opened up about the loss of Houston and other stars taken before their time, including Amy Winehouse.

“I, probably like everybody else, was hit by this shocking sense of disbelief — especially with Whitney Houston,” Madonna told the Sun (quotes via Idolator). “It had not been a secret, the struggles Amy had been through — both brilliant, brilliant artists and obviously both huge losses. But when these things happen, I’m always shocked by the first thing you say — ‘It’s such a loss’ — which doesn’t quite cover it,” she mused. “Then you reflect and you think, ‘How did it happen? How did the people around them allow it to happen?’”

Madonna had more warm words for Houston, which may come as a bit of a surprise, seeing as Madge sometimes can appear to be a bit of an ice queen. “One thing I was struck by with Whitney Houston is I remember she sort of came out as a singer around the same time I did,” Madonna said. “I remember looking at her singing and hearing people talk about her, and just thinking, ‘Oh my God. She’s such a beautiful woman and my God, what an incredible voice. I wish I could sing like that,’” she gushed. So sweet!

Madonna also noted something many of Houston’s peers did: In addition to a beautiful voice and stunning looks, Houston also had a pure heart. “I just remember being extremely envious of her and also touched by her innocence.”

Oprah Winfrey’s sit down with the late Whitney Houston‘s family aired on March 11 as a 90-minute ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ special. It was the first time the immediate family spoke out since the singer’s untimely death exactly a month ago.

There were some major revelations, such as the fact that Houston was found facedown and naked at the time of her death. But the main source of curiosity surrounded the diva’s only daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and just how she is doing. Surprisingly, the teen, who turned 19 a week ago, is holding it together pretty well. Additionally, Houston’s manager, sister-in-law and best friend Pat revealed that the singer’s ex-husband Bobby Brown was not responsible for any of her problems.

First things first. Bobbi Kris, who was hospitalized twice after her mother’s passing, was incredibly composed, showing herself as a strong woman, like her mother. “I’m doing okay,” she told Oprah. “I am getting through it, as good as I possibly can at this point. I’m just trying to keep going. I gotta keep going.”

What keeps her going? “Family, the Lord and her,” she said. BK hears her mother around her all the time. She  can’t listen to Houston’s music at this point, but enjoys communicating with her on a whole other level. “I can hear her voice in spirit talking, saying, ‘Keep moving baby, I got you.’ She always asked, ‘Do you need me?’ Out of nowhere, I said ‘I always need you,’” she revealed. She also shared that their last day together consisted of spending time together and holding one another.

The teen is considering following in her mother’s footsteps professionally, with some aspirations to sing, dance and act. Her mother prepared her to deal with that kind of pressure.

Pat Houston revealed that she knew her friend and sister-in-law was in trouble in the late ’90s but flat out told Oprah that she does not blame Brown for getting her hooked on drugs. “I can’t say he introduced drugs to her,” she said. “I don’t think that’s true. Bobby and I had a good relationship. She always said, ‘You are trying to protect him.’ I said, ‘No, I protect the truth.’”

The couple’s issues stemmed from “a lot of outside interference,” according to Pat. “They loved each other and tried to protect one another, but there was so much intrusion from the outside. You are talking about two people who started out in the business very young. How can you be equipped for that?”

Pat confirmed that there was some sort of nebulous confrontation between Houston and ‘X Factor’ contestant Stacy Francis, who seemed to be “around all the time” and was apparently following them at the party before she died. “It didn’t feel right,” Pat said, confirming that heated words were had and that Francis was crying, something we saw her do quite a bit during the season. There was, however, no altercation.

Pat shared the details of Houston’s final day, revealing she was preparing to shoot a candle infomercial. She was completely numb when the makeup artist screamed at having seen Houston. She saw her brother Ray, who was part of the security detail, trying to revive the singer to the point of exhaustion. Houston was on the floor, looking peaceful in the tub, but Pat did not know how she got there or what exactly happened at that point.

The controversial leaked photo of Houston in her casket that was published by The National Enquirer was discussed, with the singer’s brother Gary feeling violated, calling the act “intrusive” and “wicked.” He also confirmed that there is no ill will between his family and Brown. As for his former brother-in-law-’s presence at the funeral, Gary said he “was supposed to be there.” Brown’s presence was not only welcome but expected. He wasn’t sure what exactly happened with his early exit, but emphatically declared that he loved Bobby, yet isn’t sure that he and his sister were good for each other.

The family also shared that Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston is taking it hardest, and wasn’t ready to speak on camera yet.

Overall, it was an intimate portrait of a mourning family.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has had an understandably difficult time dealing with the shocking and untimely death of her mother, Whitney Houston. Following Houston’s passing last month, Bobby Brown reportedly attempted to reach out to his daughter, but Bobbi Kristina and Houston’s family were said to be pushing him away.

Now, Bobbi Kristina is taking her alienation of her father to another level: She wants to change her name to just “Kristina Houston.”TMZ reports that Bobbi Kristina “can’t stand” her name because of its association with her father. The gossip site also says that Bobbi Kristina, who will appear in a special interview on Oprah’s OWN network tonight (March 11), has wanted to change her name ever since her parents split up. However, Houston wouldn’t allow it. Now that her mother isn’t there to oppose her decision, friends of Bobbi Kristina think she’ll take the plunge to become “Kristina Houston.”

Bobby Brown has been hesitant to approach Bobbi Kristina, especially in light of her recent troubles, because of the bad blood between him and Houston’s family. “Bobby Brown needs to physically go and get his daughter and take her to a remote location and let her mourn the loss of her mother away from prying eyes,” a source close to Brown said. “The problem is that Bobby is fearful of making more headlines, or upsetting Whitney’s family, but this is his daughter.”

While some may speculate that Bobbi Kristina’s recent bouts with substance abuse and emotional trauma may be playing a role in her choice, TMZ is quick to nix those suspicions, specifying, “Bobbi has made the decision with a sober mind and is in a ‘better place’ than she’s been in a while.”

In keeping with their brother-sister like teasing on the show, ‘The Voice‘ coaches Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera had some fun bickering on Twitter. Over what? Well, Levine put his foot in his mouth regarding celeb scents — and Xtina was more than happy to point that out to him.

Levine announced the launch of his upcoming fragrance, 222, last week. Perfectly innocuous and fine, right? Well, yes, until you realize that about a year ago, doing so, by Levine’s own account, would be cause for suicide:

Who better to remind him of his own hypocrisy than his ‘Voice’ rival Aguilera? She clearly enjoyed every minute of it, too, posting a link to his tweet and reminding him of his own remark.

Zing! Aguilera is a perfume veteran, with Christina Aguilera, By Night, Royal Desire and Secret Potion all bearing her name.

While the duo may argue and taunt one another often, they clearly have one another’s backs. Levine defended Aguilera to Howard Stern last month when the shock jock grilled the Maroon 5 rocker on her weight.

We think it’s so much fun watching the sibling rivalry dynamic at work with these two — especially when they show that despite their teasing, they’re actually tight.

The previews for episode 6 of ‘Smash‘ have landed. The ep airs Monday, March 12, and there’s a whole lotta drama going on. We know, we weren’t surprised by that, either.

In one clip, Ivy’s voice is cracking left and right when she tries to sing. She dances and sings with Derek in another.

She then snaps when Derek critiques her in what turns out to be the funniest clip. She is having a moment and hits her breaking point, shouting, “You could give me notes without publicly humiliating me … artists are not football players who can take endless abuse and still do their jobs.” He rolls his eyes and says she is “having a moment,” which causes her to blow up and spew, “I don’t need more time with the lyrics. I need to stop sleeping with men who are complete narcissistic p—-s. Oh, and you’re not that good looking and you’re not that good in bed, either.” Ouch. Zing! Well, not really. He is totally unaffected by her comments.

In another clip, Katharine McPhee‘s Karen is belting out Florence + the Machine‘s ‘s Shake It Out’ at a bar mitzvah. While McPhee’s voice is very different than Flo’s, she has a good handle on it and gets the kids dancing at the celebration of the Jewish rite of passage.

Whoa! Hollywood Life is reporting that Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, is in a relationship with her unofficial “adopted” brother, Nicholas Gordon. Say what?!

Bobbi Kristina, 19, was spotting smooching Gordon, 22 in Target near the Atlanta suburb where the pair reside in Houston’s townhouse.

“Bobbi and Nick were in the music section and then all over the store,” sources told Hollywood Life. “Bobbi was kissing him on the mouth and holding hands. They were laughing and smiling and seemed SO happy.”

The spies added, “She was wearing a black short pencil bandage skirt with a black top and black knee high boots. Her hair and makeup were all done too, like she was going to go out on the town. He was in all black — black jeans, black shirt, earrings and a black wide-brimmed hat.”

Who is Nicholas Gordon? Few knew about him, but Houston took him in as a child and raised him as her own. He’s always been close with Bobbi Kristina (though Houston never officially adopted him), and she reportedly was aware of his relationship with her daughter, giving them her blessing to co-habitate in her Atlanta home.

Bobbi Kristina has taken her mother’s death extremely hard, being hospitalized twice and surrounded by whispers of rehab. We’re not sure if these rumors are true, but if they are, we’re glad to see her happy. Bobbi Kristina will appear in a special interview on Oprah’s OWN network tomorrow (March 11).

According to reports, ‘Glee’ will be working on an episode that celebrates the music of Whitney Houston. The FOX show is planning to film an episode containing eight of her most popular songs. Ace Showbiz hints that the episode will center around McKinley High School’s graduation. The students will be having a hard time saying goodbye to each other.

Lea Michele has been dropping hints on the possible tribute to Houston. FOX has yet to make an official announcement, but that didn’t stop her from tweeting, “Singing a really great rendition of one of my favorite songs today with @MsAmberPRiley @NayaRivera and @chriscolfer .”

This is not the first time that ‘Glee’ has done one of Houston’s songs. Amber Riley sang, “I Will Always Love You” in the Valentine’s Day episode. It is unknown if that track will get a reprisal in the Houston tribute episode, but it would be fitting. This will be the second time that ‘Glee’ has done a posthumous tribute to an artist. In 2009, they did an episode paying tribute to Michael Jackson.
