Adam Lambert

A multi-octave vocal range and a well-developed sense of theatricality are just two of the talents that have helped Adam Lambert transform from ‘American Idol’ runner-up to international recording star. Born in 1982 and raised in San Diego, the always stylish singer was an experienced theater performer when he auditioned for ‘American Idol.’ His performances on the show in 2009 became some of the most-talked-about in its history. Later the same year, he released debut album ‘For Your Entertainment,’ which featured his breakout single ‘Whataya Want From Me.’ With 2012’s ‘Trespassing’ Lambert became the first openly gay male artist in history to notch a No. 1 album. An outspoken supporter of LGBT rights, he was a recipient of an Honorary GLAAD Media Award in 2013. Lambert’s frequent collaborations with class-rock legends Queen led to a full-fledged North American tour in 2014.
