Adele - Page 13
Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull presented the first of the 2013 Grammysin television broadcast for Best Pop Solo Performance. Lopez stuck out her leg and joked, "As you can see, I read the memo." Get it, girl!
It was an appropriate dig at a somewhat sexist dress code memo just before announcing an award for which only women -- Adele, Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna -- were nominated.
But onto the important things: The winner is ... Adele!
When it comes to the music business and the world of celebrity, New York City and Los Angeles are where the action is. Yet, some platinum artists choose to live a more secluded lifestyle away from the spotlight, either because they want to maintain their privacy, like Prince in Minneapolis, or because they want to enjoy a life in the country, like John Mayer in Montana.
Females have taken over the Best Pop Solo Performance category for the 2013 Grammy Awards! Adele, Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna have all been praised by the Recording Academy for outstanding vocals and audibly arresting beats on their standout singles of 2012, but which of these ladies do you think deserves the golden gramophone?
Adele has an estranged -- at best -- relationship with her father, in part because of her parents' split and in part because he speaks about her in the press. Her dad, Mark Evans, spoke to the press once again in hopes of gaining her attention and access to her new baby boy ... but it's probably not going to happen.
Adele isn't just the proud new owner of a statuette to add to her hefty mantle, but she's also a proud mama. The 'Skyfall' songstress chatted with Us Weekly about her bundle of joy backstage at the 2013 Golden Globes ceremony, and it's pretty clear she couldn't be more thrilled with motherhood. As if you needed another reason to love her!
