Actress-singer Anna Kendrick is blessed with equal parts talent and likability, so it should come as no surprise that she has enjoyed critical and popular acclaim throughout her career. Born in 1985 in Portland, Maine, young Anna was shuttled to New York City by her understanding parents to audition for Broadway shows. When she was only 12, she was nominated for a Tony Award in the stage production of ‘High Society.’ Film and television roles followed, and her performance in 2009’s ‘Up in the Air’ was nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award. She put her musical-theater roots to good use in the 2012 film ‘Pitch Perfect,’ which featured her chart hit ‘Cups (When I’m Gone).’
