Not for nothing is Austin Mahone often called “the next Justin Bieber.” Mahone has become a teen sensation with a pop sensibility, cool dance moves and big bangs similar to that sported by a young Biebs. Born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1996, Austin also launched his music career the same way Justin did: by posting videos of himself singing on YouTube. The clips soon went viral and he found himself with not only thousands of followers and fans, but with a real-life record deal. His debut single, ’11:11,’ dropped in February 2012, closely followed by ‘Say Somethin’.’ The next year he was named one of MTV’s Artists to Watch and won Breakout Star at the Radio Disney Music Awards. In late 2013, he was forced to cancel his first headlining tour because of the flu. His first album, ‘The Secret,’ is due in 2014.
