Talk about a collaboration for the ages: Pharrell and Daft Punk performed with music legend Stevie Wonder at the 2014 Grammy Awards tonight, Jan. 26. The French duo and Pharrell also scored 'Record of the Year' for their hit 'Get Lucky' and album of the year for 'Random Access Memories.'
Some of 2013's best music was a result of musical superpowers joining forces. If one hit-maker can produce an amazing track, two or more hit-makers is an almost guaranteed recipe for success. The Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance honors such collaborations.
The nominees for Album of the Year at the 2014 Grammy Awards come from multiple genres, including pop, rap and country. The contenders are Sara Bareilles' 'The Blessed Unrest,' Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories,' Kendrick Lamar's 'Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City,' Macklemore + Ryan Lewis' 'The Heist' and Taylor Swift's 'Red.'
We'll always associate certain songs with this year -- records that took the radio by storm and ones that we Can't. Stop. Singing! You know, songs like Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky,' Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive,' Lorde's 'Royals,' Bruno Mars' 'Locked Out of Heaven,' and Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines,' Feat. T.I. and Pharrell -- which have all been nominated for 2014's Record of the Year. So who should take home the accolade?
Daft Punk, one of the hottest acts in music in 2013, and Karlie Kloss, part of the new regime of towering supermodels, brought the future to the pages of Vogue in a new spread, which was artfully and tastefully done.
On Aug. 11, we will get to find out who wins the 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice Single by a Group. Until that Sunday, when the show is set to air on FOX at 8PM ET, we are taking votes for the group/band whose song you think most deserves the 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice Single.
