Mop-topped, dimpled, charismatic and cheeky Harry Styles is easily the most recognizable member of British boy-band behemoth One Direction — and is arguably also its most popular. The heartthrob, born in England in 1994, got an early start at his chosen profession, singing at every opportunity, including talent competitions and fronting a local band. In 2010, he auditioned as a solo act for the U.K. edition of ‘The X Factor.’ Although he was cut, the judges decided that he and four other eliminated contestants would make a good group. Thus, 1D was formed. The band soon became a worldwide phenomenon, with best-selling music, movies and much, much more. Styles himself became a gossip mainstay, with his every tattoo (and there are a lot) and every romance (ditto) documented in the tabloids.
