Update: The fans have spoken -- and Britney Spears' 'Baby One More Time' is the Greatest Pop Song of the Modern era! Get more details here.
The final round of March Music Madness is here! Over the past several weeks -- and over the past four rounds -- you have voted for the Greatest Pop Song of the Modern Era, narrowing down 32 of the best pop songs from the '80s to today to the final two hits that will go head-to-head in the ultimate round. Only one song can be crowned the Greatest Pop Song of the Modern Era -- which will it be?
Lady Gaga ditched the wigs, the crazy makeup and costumes for her Porter cover. It's the mag's second issue and the fashion icon stripped down, showing off a bare face and simple blonde hair with bangs, looking like Courtney Love being made over to look like Stevie Nicks. Mother Monster also spoke about her sexuality and how it does not drive her.
For the second week in a row, 5 Seconds of Summer conquered the Pop Clash competition. The band faced off against Austin Mahone and ultimately took 56 percent of the votes. Now they're facing superstar Lady Gaga's 'G.U.Y.' Who should win this week's Pop Clash?
Lady Gaga has had a busy few days. She celebrated her 28th birthday on March 28 and she also launched her Roseland residency, performing the final shows at the famed NYC venue, which is closing its doors for good. Of course Gaga turned up for the events cloaked in only the most outrageous fashions.
We've made it to the Semi-Finals of March Music Madness! That means that only four songs are left in the competition -- and only one can be crowned Greatest Pop Song of the Modern Era. Round 3 spawned some intense competition, with Lady Gaga just barely managing to edge 'N Sync out of the competition with just over 50% of votes. Likewise, Adele's 'Someone Like You' garnered 54.56% of votes, just squeaking by Katy Perry's 'Firework.' In this semi-final round, Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' is facing off against Adele's 'Someone Like You.' Which song deserves the title?
In an interview with Australian radio station SAFM, Katy Perry was asked the inevitable question about her "competition" with Lady Gaga for pop chart dominance, since the two singers, while markedly different in style and sound, dropped singles and albums around the same time last year.
Lady Gaga's 'G.U.Y.' video is a nearly 12-minute 'ARTPOP' film that finds our heroine portrayed as an angel who has fallen to earth with an arrow piercing her through the back. Her wings are badly damaged. But she is eventually reborn. Is this an extended career metaphor for Ma Monster?
