This week, PopCrush's Top 20 Songs list has some newcomers, while others continue to hold down their usual spots with a steadfast grip. For instance, 'American Idol' champ Phillip Phillips is making his Top 20 debut with 'Home' this week, while Maroon 5 (who are also debuting with 'One More Night') continue to dominate the higher spots with 'Payphone.'
Congratulations to Sammy Adams and all of the fans who voted for him! The singer/rapper has officially won our latest About to Pop competition with his hit 'Only One.' This means that Sammy's song will receive 20+ spins on our national radio show over the weekend (see a list of stations where it will air here).
Our lovers in Maroon 5 performed on 'The Today Show' this morning (June 29) as part of the Toyota Summer Concert series and someone -- we're looking at you Adam Levine -- forgot to hand us our formal invite. Fans even waited in line to see the band since 4 am during that crazy rain and thunderstorm, but no worries, because Adam totally heard about your dedication.
Maroon 5 hit the stage of 'The Late Show With David Letterman' on Tuesday night (June 26), the same day their latest platter 'Overexposed' dropped. They performed their smash single 'Payphone' while bathed in alternating blue and yellow lights. There's no better promotional effort for a new album than appearing on a late night talk show -- and the band made the most of it.
If you haven't already picked up Maroon 5's newest album 'Overexposed,' then you should probably march yourself over to the nearest corner and sit for a time out. We're basically a walking advertisement for the album for two reasons: 1) We're hoping Adam Levine will somehow notice us; and 2) The bonus tracks on the album are pretty sick.
There should be a written rule somewhere that states that Adam Levine must be shirtless at all times. He's not exactly the most muscular dude out there, but we totally appreciate this bod, and the fact that he's playing a boxer in Maroon 5's newest video 'One More Night' kind of gets us all hot and bothered.
