Ouch! Phillip Phillips wasn't joking when he said he played through pain and was in ill health on Season of 11 of 'American Idol,' which the cutie won. In a chat with E!, the singer/songwriter revealed that when he was checked by doctors, they found that his right kidney was three to four (!!!) times the size of the left one. He was in so much pain it hurt to bend over or walk! Aww! Poor guy.
Phillip Phillips, the winner of Season 11 of 'American Idol,' has been plagued by health issues before, during and after his big, life-changing win, thanks to a barely-functioning kidney that required multiple surgeries, with more on the horizon. Despite all the reports about Phillips' ill health, word is the 'Home' singer will not have imminent surgery in favor of alternative treatments, which are apparently doing the trick.
Ratings for 'American Idol' may have been down this season, but fans of winner Phillip Phillips helped the 21-year-old score one of the biggest digital sales weeks of any contestant in the show's history. Phillips sold 278,000 copies of 'Home' last week, helping the coronation song land at No. 2 on the Digital Songs chart and No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Phillip Phillips was scheduled to have surgery today (May 29) but it was postponed when the 'American Idol' Season 11 winner came down with a raging fever upon developing a sinus infection. Surgeons won't operate under such conditions so it had to be rescheduled. Aw, poor Phillip. He's in bad physical shape right now, despite the big win just under a week ago.
