Since its first episode in 2010, the hit ABC Family teen drama ‘Pretty Little Liars’ has inspired fans to closely examine clues to solve its central mystery. Based on Sam Shepard’s popular series of mystery novels, ‘PLL’ takes place in fictional Rosewood, Penn. It follows four girls (Spencer, Hanna, Emily and Aria) and the fallout as they deal with the death of Alison, the manipulative queen bee of their clique. The drama really ramps up when they start getting messages from the mysterious “A” that threaten to reveal the girls’ deepest, darkest secrets. In 2014, it was announced that ‘Pretty Little Liars’ would be renewed for a sixth and seventh season, thus becoming the network’s longest-running original series. A spinoff, ‘Ravenswood,’ appeared on ABC Family for one season, in 2013-2014.
