Shailene Woodley

Critically acclaimed for her feature-film debut in ‘The Descendants,’ Shailene Woodley has since become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actresses. Born in 1991 in Simi Valley, Calif., she started modeling at age 4. Next came small parts in several TV series and the starring role in the 2005 TV-movie ‘Felicity: An American Girl Adventure.’ A scoliosis diagnosis at age 15 forced her to wear a back brace but did little to derail her burgeoning career. In 2008, she began five seasons in the lead role of Amy Juergens on ABC Family’s ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager.’ In 2011, Shailene won an Independent Spirit Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in ‘The Descendants.’ Lead parts in blockbusters ‘Divergent’ and ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ followed.
