Serving as a judge and talent finder for 'X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' isn't enough for Simon Cowell. Now he's taking his talent search instincts to the web, launching 'The You Generation,' a worldwide online search for the next crop of future superstars.
Since Twitter is the No. 1 way to insult celebrities directly, late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel once again asked celebs to read mean tweets about themselves. This time, Selena Gomez, Simon Cowell, Jessica Biel, Anderson Cooper and Dr. Phil, among others, were invited to read react to mean tweets.
Even though Fifth Harmony placed third on Thursday night's finale of 'X Factor,' the all-girl group need not fear for their futures in the music biz, because it looks like their mentor Simon Cowell is about to give them a helping hand!

Does Simon Cowell have rocks in his head? Yes, but the sparkly kind. The 'X Factor' judge and creator reportedly is eyeing Rihanna for his panel ... as well as another pop star that will raise even more eyebrows: Chris Brown.
In today's installment of 'This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things,' TMZ is reporting that 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell is the latest victim of L.A.'s obnoxious rash of prank 911 calls targeting celebrities -- or, as the kids on the street are calling it, 'swatting.'
Simon Cowell sure knows how to pick 'em! The notoriously cantankerous and blunt 'X Factor' judge is currently gloating over his discovery of One Direction. He's especially impressed with the development of Zayn Malik, who, according to Facebook, is the biggest heartthrob in the group (he has the most individual "likes"!).
'X Factor' terrific twosome Britney Spears and Simon Cowell hit 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' to talk about how their mutual makeup artist helped get Brit Brit to take the judging gig. Blah blah blah, right? We've heard this story before. What was really interesting about this delightful duo was their open discussion of their quirks, like Brit Brit's disdain for socks and the fact that Cowell wants to be cryogenically frozen and had a medium assess the vibe of his home. No, seriously!
"Sh-- happens, man. This is the business. It's not going to be all cute and pretty and tied up in a little bow," warned Christina Aguilera at one point during her keynote Q&A for the music conference jointly sponsored by Billboard Magazine and the Hollywood Reporter yesterday (Oct. 25).
It was a statement that set the tone for many of her remarks during a chat in which she, as THR put it, "dropped some f-bombs, spoke plainly about her career, and even belted out a bit of a classic tune."
Simon Cowell can be pretty cantankerous to begin with, but he's really cranky following the scheduling disaster for 'X Factor' on Wednesday night (Oct. 17).
