While he is known for his stadium-sized, anthemic 'Dynamite,' British R&B star Taio Cruz debuted the song 'Positive' on tonight's performance episode of the two-part Season 10 finale of 'American Idol.' The song is part of a promotion where fans got to play songwriter, and they co-wrote parts of the song for a Coca-Cola promotional effort. The song is pop; the contest is sponsored by a classic soda pop. Cruz's performance popped in his chill, Cruz-like way, complete with red lights and all.

There was a bit of a snafu, though, as Cruz's mic did not seem the be working properly for the whole performance, so it was a nice teaser and introduction to the song. Like a pro, he kept on going and didn't let the minor technical issue derail his moment on the 'Idol' stage.

The song should remind contestants Lauren Alaina and Scott McCreery to remain positive no matter what the outcome tomorrow night. Both teenagers are headed for successful careers in the music industry. Good luck, kids!
