Taye Diggs Uses ‘Let It Go’ as His Life Mantra
Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel were friends long before they entered into a relationship. When they eventually split up back in 2013, they decided to keep the friendship going for the sake of their son, Walker Nathaniel. Taye told PEOPLE, "We were friends to start out with, but especially when you have a kid in the mix, there's no time for any negativity. He's our main objective, he's what's most important for us, so we're still there as a family."
It's a fantastic attitude to have, and we're glad both Taye and Idina are able to stay such positive forces in their son's life, even if they aren't together anymore as a couple. Taye goes on to talk about how amazing it is to see Walker take pride in his mom's success. Taye said, "Watching Walker watch her [sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl] and seeing the pride in his face is cool. He was at some playdate with a bunch of kids and ["Let It Go"] came on. The kids said, ‘Oh, my mother is always singing this song,’ and he said, ‘No, my mother really sings this song!”
Even cooler? Walker isn't the only one who appreciates the popular Frozen song. According to Taye, the song has inspired him, as well. He said, "I use it more of a mantra these days. Last year was a tough year for many reasons and I think all of us could use that lesson to release and keep moving on and not hold on to stuff.”
