5 Things We Learned From Taylor Swift’s British Vogue Interview
Taylor Swift, looking as elegant as ever, graces the cover of British Vogue's November 2014 issue. While you'll just have to pick up the mag this week for the full interview, Vogue has released some tidbits from the sit-down (yay!). Check out five things we learned from the 'Shake It Off' singer's Vogue UK interview below.
1. It took a lot of guts to create '1989.'
Taylor's decision to make her upcoming album strictly pop was a bold statement -- and it took some serious courage.
"This time around I've chosen the brave and bold way of going about things," the 24-year-old pop star revealed. "Because with this album I've completely changed the sound of everything I've done until now. So it's interesting to not be afraid of that."
2. And to do so, she had to reluctantly leave Nashville behind.
"You know, I don't want to hurt people's feelings," Taylor explained of leaving the country genre behind with '1989,' "I don't want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist."
3. Dating, let alone finding a boyfriend, is "the last thing" on her mind.
"Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can't picture how it could work with the way my life is," Taylor said. "I don't know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can't protect his girlfriend because that's the life she chose."
4. But that doesn't mean she hasn't had offers.
"I kind of run from it when it presents itself," she explained. 'Cause I don't think any guy really… They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don't think they want what comes with it."
5. She kind of resembles an '80s version of Charlize Theron.
Seriously, tell us she doesn't remind you of Charlize Theron on the Vogue cover, especially with that slicked back hair and piercing eyes. Plus, we're loving her soft pink-and-blue ensemble, which is totally giving us an '80s vibe.
