Taylor Swift is everything we’ve ever wanted in a BFF: she cares about her girlfriends, is a self-proclaimed feminist, has insane baking skills and is totally the one we’d go to if we ever needed to cry into a pint of Ben & Jerry’s after a breakup. But it looks like many years ago, a boy came between Taylor and her friend at the time -- according to Chelsea Alford, that is.

Chelsea opened up to the Daily Mail about their former friendship, and a particularly interesting anecdote has Chelsea claiming her current husband, Jordan, broke up with Taylor to be with her.

Chelsea said: “They dated in freshman year, but then after that, girl code, once you date an ex-boyfriend you’re not friends anymore. ‘Picture to Burn’ is about him because he’s always had big old trucks and stuff.”

Apparently, Chelsea was surprised to learn that ‘Picture to Burn’ was about Jordan (though, to be fair, Taylor has never specifically said who the song is about), saying: “What other ones are about us?”

Chelsea even says that she and her classmates used to sit around and guess who the songs off Taylor’s self-titled debut album were written about — something that’s not too far off from what fans do today. She said: "There were other songs on there about people that we talked about more [sic] probably, like 'Tears On My Guitar' [is] about the guy she never dated. We were like 'that's a little odd.’"

The best part? Chelsea also claims she and her friends never “thought she was actually going to go anywhere.” Sounds about right.
