Taylor Swift and Lea Michele may be duking it out over the much-desired role of Eponine in the film version of 'Les Miserables.' Swift and Michele would seem to be obvious choices to compete for the role of a lifetme, but Scarlett Johansson, who released an album of covers of Tom Waits songs, and Justin Bieber karaoke-er and Belieber Evan Rachel Wood are also reportedly in the running.

The New York Post reports that all four of the aforementioned ladies have auditioned for the role. Could you imagine being the casting director or director having to choose between those beautiful and talented powerhouses? A source said that Michele "knocked it out of the park," which makes sense since she played Young Cosette in the Broadway version so she could have an advantage for the multiplex edition.

Michele is no shoe-in, though. A source also said, "Scarlett brings acting ability, and she can really sing,” while “Evan Rachel Wood brings her indie cred.”

Don't rule out Swift. This role would be a major coup for her and would help her take that massive leap from pop stardom to screen siren. She's only had minor roles in films like 'Valentine's Day' and she is more than ready to take that next step.

Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman have already been cast in the film, which is set to land in theaters next Christmas season -- Dec. 7, 2012, to be exact.
