Taylor Swift is an excellent songwriter for a reason: She has a killer way with words. So it may not come as a surprise that she recently used the perfect metaphor to describe her past relationship with Harry Styles.

According to the Hollywood Gossip, T. Swift did not shy away from talking about her time with the One Direction boy bander at her recent '1989' listening party, reportedly likening their relationship to trying to start a fire that everyone wants to put out.

"She described it like trying to build a fire from two twigs," a fan revealed. "And everyone is yelling at the fire, 'I hate your fire,' and blowing out the sparks."

Considering the amount of Haylor hate that was going around at the time (Taylor and Harry dated for a few months in late 2012) we can definitely see the similarities between that and the fire metaphor. But of course, Taylor always manages to phrase even the most indescribable emotions with elegant ease (see 'All Too Well' and everything else she has ever written.) And we cannot wait to hear the Harry Styles-centric songs on '1989,' which are sure to be a knockout. Countin' down the days!
