Last week, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj attended Billboard's Women in Music event. The 2011 Women in Music gathering marks the sixth time Billboard has held the event, and Ms. Swift and the Harajuku Barbie posed for pictures together as they arrived at the Capitale in New York City.

Swift was named the 2011 Woman of the Year by Billboard, and she was looking fierce in her black dress on the cover of the publication's Women in Music issue. On Dec. 2, she traded in the black cocktail dress from the cover for a flirty and flowy red number. Swift wore nude pumps to match her outfit, and her newly cut bangs and straight hairdo looked fabulous. Minaj ditched the colorful wigs and opted to wear a crimped blond wig with bangs. The rapper also wore a black and white form-fitting dress as she seductively posed for the paparazzi at the event.

It's really no wonder why Swift and Minaj were were honored at the 2011 Women in Music event. Swift had a massively successful year -- her album 'Speak Now' sold millions, her national arena tour was one of the biggest of the year, and she has been picking up awards left and right throughout 2011. Additionally, Nicki Minaj dominated in 2011, dropping her acclaimed 'Pink Friday' debut LP, touring with Britney Spears and Lil Wayne, and producing one of 2011's biggest songs with 'Super Bass.'

Both women also have had success outside of music too. Swift released her Speak Now tour DVD, landed a fragrance deal with Wonderstruck, plus more. Minaj also had success in the beauty department with an OPI nail polish collection and her Viva Glam campaign with MAC. Not to mention that both have cemented their roles as fashion icons in 2011. Congrats to both of the girls on their accomplishments!
