‘Ours’ Video Cast + Director Dish on What It’s Like Working With Taylor Swift

To those of us on the outside looking in, Taylor Swift appears to be a sweet-natured and genuinely nice person -- but is she really? In the latest webisode from her 'Ours' behind-the-scenes series, both the director and Taylor's faux boyfriend dish on what the 22-year-old icon is really like.

"I just met Taylor for the first time this morning, and she was just super nice. She came in and gave me a hug and said thank you for doing it, and I said thanks for letting me!" actor Zach Gilford, who portrays Taylor's boyfriend in the 'Ours' video, confirms.

"It's kind of crazy, I mean, she's a mega star. Even though I have a little bit of celebrity in my own right, still when you meet people like that it's always like, 'Wow, you're like just this person I see on TV, or in the movies, or at concerts… and now you're like, right here and you're totally a normal person," Gilford cotinues with a laugh. He adds, "She writes her own music, she's very involved in what she does. It's not just someone with a voice who's told what to do. She's for the most part guiding her own career and creating it."

Fortunately, director Declan Whitebloom -- who has now worked with Taylor on multiple occasions -- echoed Zach's nice compliments and affirmed that Taylor is as genuine, and as involved, as she seems. "A lot of the time the artist is involved, but very little to this degree," he says. "But with Taylor, she knows what she's doing. She's got great taste, great sense of style and ability. She creates this idea, I make it happen."

"I've worked with lots of different artists, and Taylor, I have to say -- for being as big an artist and as famous -- has been an absolute joy," the video director continues. "And for being such a young girl as well, she's really incredibly a decent human being and a real great collaborator, and polite and lovely, which is not the way a lot of other artists are."
