Taylor Swift may be all about '1989,' but on the cover of this week's PEOPLE, she is bringing it back to the Roaring Twenties with her 'Gatsby'-inspired look.

Emulating the magazine's first-ever cover of Mia Farrow dressing like her 'Gatsby' character Daisy Buchanan, T. Swift looked gorgeously vintage, her dark blonde locks perfectly waved and her graphite gray nails delicately clutching a string of pearls that she holds in her mouth. Jay Gatsby would be drooling -- but guys aren't the 'Shake It Off' singer's priority right now.

"I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am," she tells the magazine about her single status. "Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try. It's really been a liberating and freeing time."

And part of that liberation includes moving to New York City -- something that Swift has been trying to convince her pal Selena Gomez to do.

"Taylor has been begging me to live there," Gomez told E! "She's like, 'It's the best decision I've ever made.' Everyone always says I'm more New York when they meet me so maybe it would be good for me."

Well, it's certainly worked for Taylor!
