Taylor Swift Responds to Cancer-Stricken Teen’s Prom Date Offer

Taylor Swift sadly cannot make Kevin McGuire’s prom in New Jersey. However, the singer has instead asked the cancer-stricken teen, whose sister started a Facebook campaign to get Swift to accompany him to prom, to be her date to the upcoming 2012 ACM Awards. What a class act Taylor Swift is. No wonder she inspires such fiercely loyal dedication among her fans.
McGuire, who is battling leukemia for the second time in his life and is having trouble securing a course of treatment due to the high cost of production and low return for the manufacturer, is keeping a positive attitude despite his diagnosis. The viral campaign to get Swift to escort him to prom reached the singer, who responded with a post on Facebook, asking him to be her date to a country sort of prom!
Swift’s reply is as follows:
“Kevin, I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up.. Would you be my date?
Love, Taylor “
O to the M to the G. It might not be his prom, surrounded by his friends, but it’s a date with Taylor Swift to one of the biggest country award shows of the year! We hope he accepts.
