Taylor Swift Brings Steven Tyler Out In Nashville For Epic Duet
On Friday night, Taylor Swift brought her massive 1989 Tour home to Nashville, the city in which she officially launched her country-pop music career. During the prodigious return at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Swift brought out a particularly special guest, much to the delight of the shrieking, sold-out crowd: Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
Tyler was welcome onstage to perform his band’s 1998 smash hit single “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” with Swift, the two performing a rousing duet of the emotional Armageddon track against a backdrop of exploding pyrotechnics. (Hey, when in Rome, right?)

“I don’t quite know what else to say other than, I think when you’ve sold over 150 million albums with your band, when you have become an absolute rock n’ roll icon…” Swift teased the crowd before introducing the rock legend, adding, “The person that’s about to come out on stage has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his band… Aerosmith. Steven Tyler’s here, Nashville!”
Afterwards, Taylor called the opportunity to sing alongside Steven “an honor”:

The duet also made a certain prophetic tweet Swift sent a few years ago come full circle. Back in June 2012, Taylor tweeted, “I feel like I’d be more understood if people knew ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ by Aerosmith is how most of my emotions sound in my head.” We doubt anyone will misunderstand her emotions now, least of all Steven Tyler himself, who responded to the three-year-old post with this:
WELL MA DARLIN'…YOU SURE WERE OVERSTOOD TONIGHT! A++…EPIC SHOW…UNTIL NEXTIME… https://t.co/LbHb6nt5v6

Looks like Steven really doesn’t miss a thing, does he?
