Taylor Swift alludes to "an indie record that's much cooler than mine" in her breaking-up-is-hard-to-do anthem 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.' She also rocks black hipster specs in the accompanying video, which is populated with costume-wearing characters. Swift addressed how the video is making allusions to the indie world, and claims it is was a nod to the sometimes random nature of that genre's visual clips.

"You know when you watch an indie video and you're like, 'Why are they underwater in upside-down chairs with a random projection of a butterfly interspersed? Why is this happening?'" she asked rhetorically during an interview with The New York Times. "We were trying to think of ways that we could tip our hat to the randomness of some indie music videos. Why are there woodland creatures? Nobody knows. Why am I wearing floral-print pajamas? Nobody knows. Why am I randomly wearing glasses? Nobody knows."

There are no answers, so don't continue to question it. Just let it ... be.

T. Swizzle wouldn't reveal which specific indie record that is cooler than hers that she was referring to. But she did pay a compliment to that particular boyfriend and his musical taste, saying, "That all came out of this one relationship I was in. This guy was just, so, so cool. It kind of gave me a bit of a complex for this album, because he was always going on and on about this new band that was so cool because they were so underground."

She continued, "I have so many indie bands on my iPod. What I don’t really understand is the attitude that if a band is unknown, they’re good, and if they get fans, then you move on to the next band." For indie hipsters, it's all about taking ownership of bands and being there "first." When the bands start to blow up, they are not as cool, Taylor!

This ex with good, indie taste was not a musician, but Swift said he had " very eclectic, sophisticated taste."

Again, that's another clue that this relationship was with actor Jake Gyllenhaal! But Swift would not confirm the identity of the guy was eclectic, sophisticated taste, once again declaring, "I don’t talk about who it is specifically because these are real people. You try to give insight as to where you were coming from as a writer without completely throwing somebody under the bus."

We say throw 'em under the bus and unveil their identity. That's just as fun.

When asked what indie bands are rocking her world right now, Swift got a little cranky, declining to toss a name out there. "I haven’t been listening to that much music lately, I’ve just kind of been doing promo and sleeping," she said. T. Swizz also said if she named names, it would become a "thing," as if the band she mentioned would have sort of stigma from the recognition.

T. Swizzle is always so coy about her boys and her bands, isn't she?
