Swifties, Taylor Swift has just unveiled the opening track on '1989' -- 'Welcome to New York'! While the full track won't drop on iTunes until midnight tonight, T. Swift shared both a preview and a discussion about the first song on the album.

"I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the past couple of years," she explains about the tune, which was co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder.

"I dreamt about moving to New York, I obsessed about moving to New York and then I did it," she continues. "The inspiration I found in that city is kind of hard to describe and hard to compare it to any other force of inspiration I've ever experienced in my life. It's like an electric city."

And the track definitely has that electric, dance-y kind of sound -- it's totally bright and vibrant, which is pretty much the perfect way to describe the Big Apple. We can't wait to hear the full thing!
