Tegan and Sara have had a very good 2013, and things are certainly looking up for 2014.

As the year draws to a close, the Canadian sisters remain busy with shows, playing Katy Perry's 'We Can Survive' charity concert for young breast cancer survivors, which takes place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles tonight (Oct. 23) and benefits the Young Survival Coalition. PopCrush grabbed some time with the gracious Tegan Quin to catch up on all the happenings in her and Sara's world.

Katy's charity concert is tonight, featuring Sara Bareilles, Ellie Goulding, and Kacey Musgraves. Do you have any surprises in store that you can talk about?
There may be some surprises, that's all I can say. I don't want to spoil it!

How did this gig land on your doorstep?
Katy has come to a couple of our shows, and we love that she is so involved with her audience and she attracts people who are awesome and she attracts a lot of women. A few months ago, the agent reached out to us and asked if we would be a part of it. We said 'Absolutely,' even before we found out who was involved. It was the first time I became aware of the Young Survival Coalition. We want to help an organization like that.

You recently performed with Taylor Swift at one of her L.A. shows. How did that come about? How does she reach out?
We heard that she was a fan and we were like, 'No! No way.' Then I saw a quote in Billboard and she said that she thought 'Closer' was a great song, and that we took a chance with [our album 'Heartthrob']. That was cool. Her people reached out, since she was having people perform with her in L.A. They asked if would we be interested in performing 'Closer.' It's a testament to Taylor that she supports and loves her community. She is an articulate role model, like Katy, and they both represent different things. They are strong and wonderful women. I like how Taylor deals with her audience and how sincere she is. Whatever she likes, her fans are on board. She is a responsible performer and cultural person. We were thrilled to be asked and to get to know her. She was lovely. I love her music.

With Halloween right around the corner, do you have any plans?
This year, we will be in Munich, Germany on Halloween, and I am thinking of wearing a costume on stage. I am excited. I hope people dress up, but I don't want to put pressure on the crowd, though.

What's in store for Tegan and Sara in 2014?
We have been on the road so much this past year. We have supported fun., the Killers. Hopefully, next year will be the year of headlining. Our fans and audience need to see that! Hopefully, it will a busy year.

You and Sara have such unique personal styles. Is it hard to stay stylish when you're living out of a suitcase or knapsack while on the road? What are some of your fashion and style tips?
I like to pair a Rag & Bone item with a t-shirt from Forever 21 or pants from H&M. There is weird retail therapy that happens when we are on the road and we just just grab stuff. Before the record, we brought name-brand stuff, but when we are on the road, we'll fight over the same faux leather jacket. I'm like, 'That's MINE.'
