Mexican songstress Thalia and her husband, record executive Tommy Mottola, welcomed their son Matthew Alejandro to their family yesterday. Thalia shared the good news over Twitter that she gave birth to the couple's second child on June 25.

"Thalia, Tommy and Sabrina joyfully announce the birth of Matthew Alejandro Mottola, born 6/25/11 at 11:48am weighing 7lbs 14oz.," Thalia tweeted yesterday. Matthew Alejandro joins big sis Sabrina, 4, and his parents, who reside in New York City.

Thalia, 39, was overjoyed by the birth of her baby boy, and her mom instincts seemed to kick in right away! Not long after her Twitter baby announcement, the Mexican beauty wrote, "Good night! Matteo Alejandro and Mama are going to sleep! Thank you for your love and light!"

For someone who just gave birth, Thalia is very active on Twitter, responding to fans' questions about baby Matthew. One fan asked how the baby was doing, to which she wrote back, "By my side the whole day so far!He is so sweet and precious. He is a blessing in this tough times..he is a present from God." However, it is easy to see why Thalia is celebrating so much, since she needed some joy in her life after her mother passed away a month ago.

61-year-old Mottola, who used to be married to another new mom, Mariah Carey, hasn't released any public statements yet, but we're sure he is just as giddy and grateful as his wife is. Congratulations to the happy parents!
