Listen to The Chainsmokers’ Remix of ASTR’s ‘Operate’

Alex and Drew, aka a pair of musicians and a production duo that goes by the name the Chainsmokers, have remixed ASTR's 'Operate' and it caught our attention and held onto it.

The duo admittedly adores the original, so they didn't overdo it with their reworking of the track. They merely enhanced it, by finding simple parts and taking them in the same direction but via different means. That's a respectful way to remix. It may not be flashy, but it's artsy.

By maintaining the spirit of the original and adding their flair, the Chainsmokers do a service to the art of remixing, which is sometimes a misunderstood skill and talent.

With beguiling female vocals and some assertive, direct beats, 'Operate' is not your typical club banger by any means. It's more cerebral and more high brow than that. That's not to suggest that you can't dance to it, because you can. But this is definitely a headphones track and remix; you can really pick up and pick out all of the nuances of sound by listening with buds tucked into your ears.
