On last night’s episode of ‘The Voice,’ contestants from Team Adam and Team Usher sang their hearts out in an attempt to secure a spot in the Top 12, and tonight (May 7), the live playoffs continued with performances from Team Blake and Team Shakira.

Prior to the live rounds, Blake Shelton took his team to a karaoke club to help them loosen up and just have fun – and the session must have been effective, because they opened the ep with a spirited group performance of Little Big Town’s ‘Boondocks.’ Later in the evening, Shelton and Shakira treated viewers to a passionate duet of Lady Antebellum’s ‘Need You Now,’ and then Shak’s team gave an energized onstage delivery of Queen’s ‘We Are the Champions.’

Here’s how the rest of the episode played out:

TEAM SHAKIRA:

Garrett Gardner: His soulful rendition of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ at the piano impressed all four coaches. Shelton called him the "complete package," and Shakira thanked him for showcasing his artistry. “I think that you’re the epitome of what this show is about,” she said.

Kris Thomas: After crooning his own version of Bruno Mars’ ‘When I Was Your Man,’ Levine said that his visible nerves hindered his onstage performance, but Shelton disagreed, believing that his nervous energy added to his overall appeal. Shakira called him “one of the most unique voices in this competition” and also praised him for having a heart of gold.

Karina Iglesias: Following her intense delivery of Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together,’ Levine (her former coach) said that he regretted giving her up to Shakira. But Shakira has no regrets whatsoever. “You gave me sassiness, you gave me strength. You showed us everything you have to offer,” her new coach remarked proudly.

Sasha Allen: Her performance of the Beatles’ ‘Oh! Darling’ showcased heart, soul and a stellar pair of lungs. “Everyone who just saw that fell in love with you,” remarked Shelton. “You have one of the best voices I’ve ever heard in my life,” came Shakira’s emphatic words of praise. “You just knocked it right out of the park.”

TEAM BLAKE:

Holly Tucker: Her delivery of LeAnn Rimes’ ‘How Do I Live’ was a hit amongst the judges and even received a standing ovation from her coach. “I really loved your take-charge approach,” said Usher. “You have such a pretty tone to your voice, and you’re also very reliable pitch-wise,” commented Shakira. “You just proved to America that you deserve to be here,” added Shelton.

The Swon Brothers: This talented sibling duo took the stage with gusto to perform an engaging version of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s ‘Fishin’ in the Dark.’ “You guys are so much fun to watch. You always have a blast onstage,” observed Shakira following their effortless, feel-good delivery of the country classic. Shelton complimented their tight harmonies and praised them on a job well done.

Justin Rivers: He made his coach proud with a heartfelt version of Diamond Rio's ‘Meet in the Middle.’ “That was a country and incredible moment, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of it,” said Usher. “I think you’re a huge surprise,” Levine said, after admiring Rivers' obvious wealth of talent.

Danielle Bradbery: Although her blind audition marked her very first time in the spotlight, this young singer has certainly proven her ability to shine. Her delivery of ‘Maybe It Was Memphis’ blew away all four judges. “This is definitely the beginning of a very long career, and I’m just so proud to see that you’re making your way,” said Usher. “I think you’re one of the best singers in the competition,” praised Levine. “Danielle is one of the most important artists who has ever been on ‘The Voice,’” agreed Shelton.
