If there was a performance that people were looking forward to at the 2015 Juno Awards on Sunday (March 15), it was The Weeknd's rendition of smash hit "Earned It."

Considering how much airplay and buzz the track has gotten since it released last December, fans have yearned to hear the R&B crooner sing it live. And what better stage than the Juno Awards to do it. Aside from the choreographed light show, the set was pretty simple with only The Weeknd's band, including "Earned It" collaborator Stephan Moccio at the piano. The singer sounded breathless at points — his strain could be heard as he went to his falsetto — but the performance was everything we imagined it could be.

After commanding the stage with his hit song, The Weeknd had more to celebrate than a great performance. The Juno Awards named him Artist of the Year, which nicely complemented the R&B/Soul Recording of the Year award he received the night prior at the 2015 Juno Gala Dinner & Awards.

"Canada, I wouldn't be here without you," he said when he accepted the Artist of the Year glass trophy.

Congratulations to The Weeknd on a great night!
