The nominees for the 2016 Emmy Awards were announced yesterday morning (July 14), and the stars from many of our favorite TV shows have been honored with a nomination.

Kit Harington and Peter Dinklage unsurprisingly nabbed nominations for their roles on Game of Thrones. (Only problem is they're competing against each other in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.) The Lead Actress in a Drama category is packed some serious talent including Keri Russell (The Americans), Claire Danes (Homeland, Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).

Meanwhile, Anthony Anderson (black-ish), who also helped to announce the nominees, Aziz Ansari (Master of None), Will Forte (Last Man on Earth), William H. Macy (Shameless), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) and
Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) are all up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

With so many big stars nominated for the Emmys this year, we took a step back into the past and found the moments they stepped into the spotlight — and they've definitely grown up.

See how all the nominees have changed from their first role to today in the gallery up top.
