30 Seconds to Mars, the band that transformed actor Jared Leto from leading man to frontman, capped off a busy week in New York City with a taping of an up close-and-personal edition of MTV's 'Unplugged.' Artists as varied as Bob Dylan, Hole and Pearl Jam have all unplugged and performed acoustically for the acclaimed series and now Thirty Seconds to Mars join that elite list. The airdate for the band's 'Unplugged' will be announced at a later date.

Earlier this week, the band hosted another screening and fan Q&A for their controversial film/video 'Hurricane'; it was the band's third screening of the clip for fans since it caused an uproar. Given the film's sexual content, which caused it to banned or restricted to night broadcasts, it was appropriate that Leto and co. held the screening of the 13-minute director's cut at NYC's Museum of Sex on Tuesday evening. The room was filled to capacity, as hundreds of fans lined up outside for their chance to talk to the band, who were accompanied by various characters from the film. Previous screenings were held in Los Angeles and in Australia.
