Actor and director Thomas Gibson has joined Twitter to stay connected with his fans following his firing from CBS drama Criminal Minds. Gibson was booted from the show following an alleged altercation with one of the show's writer-producers, in which Gibson reportedly kicked the writer in the leg. Now, he's thanking supporters and sharing his thoughts in the wake of his exit.

"I wish I could thank each of you for your friendship & support," Gibson wrote on Wednesday (August 17). "I love "Criminal Minds," & I'm disappointed by what's happened."

"Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from Criminal Minds," ABC Studios and CBS Studios said in a statement on August 12. "Creative details for how the character’s exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date."

Gibson's former costar Shemar Moore shared, and then deleted, a video that appeared to indirectly comment on the altercation and subsequent firing shortly after it occurred.

"Lot of birdies chirping out there. The gossip is real. I hear it. I see it," says Moore in the clip, which has been saved and shared online after its deletion. "I’m sure a lot of you do too, so I’ll just say this: I believe in karma. Good things happen to good people, honest people, hardworking people, humble people. People who believe in basic goodness, people who believe in themselves, people who believe in others."

"Treat people how you expect them to treat you,” he added. “Just know that you’re not better than anybody."
