When Timbaland and Aaliyah were in the studio together, they created some of the biggest hits in the late 90s including 'Are You That Somebody,' 'One in a Million' and 'Try Again.' However, Timbo's professional relationship with the late songbird soon turned into infatuation. In a revealing E! True Hollywood Story special, the hitmaker admits that he was in love with Aaliyah.

"When I first met Aaliyah, I was in love with her. I said, 'But I'm not … she just a baby [and] I'm old,'" he says. "I said to myself, 'I'm just gonna be her brother.' Oh man, I was fightin', I was fightin' a lot -- a big war. But I loved Aaliyah."

This was probably a wise move on Timbaland's part. Who knows what could have happened if he would have pursued a love affair with the R&B songbird? Both of their careers could have gone into different directions.

Also in the special, Timbaland talks about his battle with the bulge and being 400-pounds overweight and having man boobs. "I'm looking in the mirror, my breast is bigger than a girl breast," he says. "And I was saying, 'That ain't cool.' So I got very depressed, like suicidal depressed."

Luckily, he conquered his depression and became a competitive bodybuilder. He's currently happily married to his wife, Monique. "It's probably hard to be married to me," he says. "It's not easy. I'm a musical genius. I'm weird, I do crazy things, it's not like the average norm. But I'm a loving guy."

E!'s 'True Hollywood Story: Timbaland' will air on Dec. 20 at 9PM EST.
