Tinashe is officially closing the chapter on her 2014 album Aquarius by ushering us into her next era with the release of her upcoming album Joyride.

Not only did she debut her music video for "Bet" (which you can check out above), but she also unveiled a teaser video for her forthcoming album.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the "2 On" singer laid out the details about her upcoming album, from the meaning behind its name to Joyride’s overarching themes and her push for versatility.

When asked why she titled the album Joyride, Tinashe said, “I always had it in the back of my head, but it started to become more and more relevant to my current state of my career. With all this traveling I’ve done this past year and everything I’ve gone through, it just really feels like an adventure, a journey, a ride.”

Tinashe -- who's about to join the South American leg of Katy Perry’s never-ending Prismatic World Tour -- she says she learned a great deal from her recent opening slot on Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint Tour. She said, “With Nicki, I can relate to her sense of wanting to get up there and have her platform and say her piece and be her own person. The biggest takeaway for me was that unwavering sense of confidence and badness and just knowing that you’re the sh---t is something that I admire.”

Speaking about working with a wide variety of producers (everyone from Max Martin to Boi-1da), Tinashe said her main goal when writing was in creating a varied sound. She said, "I have so many sides to me and things that I want to represent. Working with all of those producers is a search to be versatile and being versatile. It's always interesting navigating working with all these very different producers — you have to learn how to work with each of them individually, but that's part of the fun and the process of recording.”
