It’s been a couple years since Tinie Tempah dropped his sophomore effort, Demonstration, but now he’s made his triumphant return with the insanely catchy track, “Not Letting Go.” Take a listen below:

The new track features a stellar chorus from English pop powerhouse Jess Glynne and a sample from James Brown’s “Funky Drummer.” And of course, Tinie solidifies the whole thing with his effortless verses.

“I’ve been a fan of Jess since I heard her song ‘Home,’” Tinie explained in a press release (quotes via Discopop Directory). “We met properly at the Brits last year and spoke about doing something together.”

According to the rapper, the song was inspired by summer love in his hometown of London.

“Both being Londoners, I wanted to make a song that captured that London summertime feeling which is always the best time of the year for me and the time where I’ve had my most romantic experience,” he continues. “So it’s an ode to a girl I met and our experiences in this amazing city we call home -- London!”

Tinie will officially release “Not Letting Go” on June 21. It’s the first song to emerge from the English rapper’s forthcoming third full-length. While we await more details surrounding Tinie’s upcoming LP, Glynne has announced her own debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, which is slated for an Aug. 14 release via Atlantic.
