TLC's saga is a prime example of artists having smash hits and best-selling albums, and still having to file for bankruptcy.

The girl group's LPs 'Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip' and 'CrazySexyCool' notched over $100 million in sales, but the ladies still had to file for bankruptcy in 1995, citing a $3.5 million debt due to mishandled royalties and mismanagement.

After paying back their debts to their record company, each member of the band was only paid about $50,000 from the $100 million sum. That hurts.

The group also claimed their former manager Perri 'Pebbles' Reid was making business decisions with their money, but without consulting the ladies -- a sure way to get fired in Reid's case.

Though the band's final bankruptcy settlement was confidential, there was some speculation that Left Eye's arson conviction debt was factored into the final figure.

Unfortunately for Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins, this wouldn't be the only time she ran into money troubles. The singer also filed for bankruptcy in 2011 after it was revealed she owed creditors over $700,000.
