Although she's been labeled a one hit wonder for her song 'Mickey' -- which is actually a revamped cover of the song 'Kitty' by U.K. band Racey -- the single brought songstress/dancer Toni Basil (born Antonia Christina Basilotta) so much success, that we're sure she doesn't mind her name being tied to the oft-infamous title. Even as we were researching Basil, we couldn't help but have the chant "Oh Mickey, you're so fine / you're so fine, you blow my mind" (which Basil added to her version of the song) playing on repeat in our heads.

In 1982, 29-year-old Toni Basil went from a mostly behind-the-scenes actress/dancer/choreographer/video director to one of the most recognized faces on television, thanks to her cheerleader-themed 'Mickey' video that dominated the MTV airwaves. The 'Mickey' video, which Basil developed, choreographed and directed, is almost as famous as the song. Basil, who only has two studio albums to her name (not counting greatest hits compilations), also went on to release a few other singles, but none of these tunes saw a comparable amount of airplay to the Platinum-certified song 'Mickey.'
