Top 40 Pop Songs – August 2012

PopCrush is rounding up the Top 40 pop songs for August to let you know what's hot for the last month of summer. We took a look at the Top 40 pop songs on the charts and ranked them based on reader favorites and overall listener reception.

Artists with a strong presence this month are Maroon 5, One Direction, and Katy Perry. Maroon 5 comes in twice on our list with their new single 'One More Night' and their huge hit 'Payphone' featuring Wiz Khalifa. The same goes for One Direction, who's hit song  'What Makes You Beautiful' remained in our Top 10 from last month and makes another appearance with their new single 'One Thing.' Perry's hit 'Wide Awake' rocked the airwaves this month, kicking hit maker Carly Rae Jepsen out of the No. 2 spot from last month.

Some new singles added to our list this month are No Doubt's comeback hit 'Settle Down' as well as Justin Bieber's new track 'As Long as You Love Me' featuring Big Sean. Also featured is Pink's new single 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss),' which has been steadily climbing the charts over the last month.

Other new additions to our list include Ed Sheeran's 'The A Team,' 2 Chainz song 'No Lie' featuring Drake, and Nicki Minaj's new single 'Pound the Alarm.' Check out the rest of our Top 40 Pop Songs List for August 2012 to see if your favorite song made the cut.
