Does a diva have to be female?

VH1 obviously doesn't think so. The network is bringing viewers another gala round of diva-licious entertainment -- and this time, they've invited a few fellas to join in the fun. This year's 'VH1 Divas' lineup includes Chaka Khan, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Travie McCoy, and Boyz II Men

The special, which airs December 19 at 9PM ET, is also scheduled to include performances from Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Florence Welch, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, and Jill Scott, all backed by the impeccable Roots, who will be serving as house band between taping episodes of 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' (and promoting their upcoming 13th album, 'Undun').

In addition to the newly expanded definition of 'diva,' this year's 'VH1 Divas' comes with a bit of a geographical twist: as part of the show's soul focus, it'll pay tribute to "soulful cities" that inspired the performers, including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis, and Philadelphia.
